You're a prince among men Matt, and thanks Jon, for making sure we all keep it real!!!*********************************************************************************** "On another note, here’s a true example of the spirit and the mission statement of GFMarine’s fishing team in action.
After the Clear Lake tournament we were getting ready to pull the GFMarine Z9CDC out of the water when a gentleman on the dock said, “You’re just in time” and then started telling us about the bass his son just caught. Not being a fisherman, he started asking questions about what to do if the fish was hooked deep – should they try to pull it out or if they left the hook in there would the fish survive? Then his son wanted to rig a lizard and didn’t know how to do it, so without missing a beat Matty jumps out of the truck and starts showing the kid how to rig a plastic lizard and then shows him how to tie a Palomar knot and this kid and his father were just glued to what Matty was saying. Now mind you, I’m still stuck in the boat waiting to get pulled out of the water which kind of sucked but that was okay. It was a real treat to watch this man and his son get their free lesson on fishing, knot tying and hook removal, etc, from Matty – I was really proud of him.
So I leave you with this……camaraderie amongst strangers….giving back to the community…all possible through fishing. That is just so cool!!!
