All Smiles- UBU Contest Winners

Oh, what a night!  The UBU Christmas party is one of those things we look forward to around here- the food is better (thanks to Mark's big ol' spaghetti dinner), the company cheerier (class time can get pretty intense), and the stakes higher.

The venturesome among us tested luck and skill in the Merry Flippin' Christmas casting contest, for the much coveted fish trophy (it was all over Facebook, if you missed it).  Winner, winner, chicken dinner, was UBU's unofficial mascot, "Rio Linda" Frank.  Among ourselves here at the shop, we decided the Rio Linda thing is just a front- Frank is a pretty fearsome stick when all is said and done!  He out gunned everyone here, including Kent Brown.  Have to say though, Shaun Heaney put up a pretty darned good fight for that trophy!

To keep things friendly, we had a free-entry, random draw raffle for a Lowrance HDS-5 graph (a million thanks to Lowrance for helping make that happen)!  We also gathered around for some chit-chat about the new Gen2 Touch units from Lowrance- if you haven't checked this stuff out yet, jump over to our YouTube channel for a quick look-see.  Those things just keep getting more amazing.  Before you know it, they'll have to come with a service plan that includes programming support from a local 5th grader!  (Truth be told, once you get the hang of the logic, they're more inuitive than we may first think).  Enough digression.  It's just easy to get excited about the new gagets, especially around Christmas time!

At any rate, great success, great night, and wonderful atmosphere.  We're already looking forward to next year.  Merry Christmas to all!
